[He chuckles kind of evilly... which is just his amused chuckle. Percy should probably be used to Val's minor demonic tendencies.]

Don't worry, Percy, I have no plans to.

[expulsions]

[This is what he gets for befriending demons tbh. But he's used to it.]

Good. [He rubs the back of his neck almost nervously.] I kind of wish you'd told me you were coming over. I don't have a gift for you ready yet.

[promissum]

[At least Percy just rolls along with it.]

Of course it does. I didn't explain that part?

No. You were mostly explaining Santa Claus and his requirements for gifts.

[expulsions]

Riiight right. [...he turns and gestures for Val to come into the house. Let's stop standing in the doorway. Come inside.] While all of that still counts, people give each other Christmas gifts, too. It's different than birthdays where the person who's celebrating doesn't have to do anything. Christmas is about appreciating your friends and family or whatever and giving them things they either want, need, or would like. Make sense?

[promissum]

[He trots his way indoors. Not that he takes off his own cape.]

I see... It's like that gratefulness quest from last month, except you're not getting sick from it.

[expulsions]

[Can he leave his cape on? Percy's just heading to the kitchen. He can have manners sometimes so...back to making discount coffee.]

Something like that. That was maybe a little different but you've got the right idea. People aren't obligated to give presents to each other but it's the nice thing to do.

[promissum]

[ Capes are for all occasions, according to a vampire.

This time Val gets to actually enjoy the coffee. He's full color. ]

Hmm... Humans have some interesting celebrations, don't they? If you would like to get me something, I'm interested in what it would be.

[expulsions]

[Good. But also it's probably bitter coffee so whatever.] I already know what it'd be. The problem with being in Chroma is that our options are a little more limited. No one else has given you a present yet for this month?

[promissum]

[If he can drink a full bottle of bbq sauce he can drink bitter coffee.]

No. Besides, you're the only person I've given a present to this month.

[expulsions]

It's still pretty early in the month. I think you might be surprised the longer time goes.

[promissum]

Are you planning on giving out multiple gifts?

[expulsions]

Maybe not too many, but hopefully at least to the people that matter. Isn't that important?

[promissum]

You're the one who knows about Christmas. If you say it's important, then it is.

[expulsions]

It might be worth asking around, you know? Don't just take my word on stuff.

[promissum]

Are you saying I shouldn't trust your views on things? I don't see why.

[expulsions]

That's not what I'm saying. [He rolls his eyes and soon presents Val with a cup of coffee.] I'm saying that you should ask around and see what other people say. That's all.

[promissum]

[Val: Believes literally anything anybody could tell him.

He takes the coffee and cups his hands around it.]

I suppose I could. I've already given things to my two favorite people here.

[expulsions]

[There's a funny little smile.] I'm one of your two favorite people?

[This is a very surprising and shocking development to him.]

[promissum]

[He blows lightly on his drink before answering as bluntly as ever.]

Of course you are, Percy.

[He even uses Percy's name.]

[expulsions]

Oh. [Uh.] Thanks. [Wow, get it together, Jackson.] That usually isn't the case.
